Important note about your surveys!!!

Hi all,

I've sent out the surveys. I mentioned that I'm using a service called BackerKit to allow you to add on additional items, and supposedly it will streamline/organize things when I'm shipping stuff out. 

They have a brand-spanking-new shipping calculator that I'm using so that you don't get overcharged if you add on items (the new calculator takes into account what you already ordered in your reward tier when calculating rather than starting from scratch). BUT, it's a little wonky and won't allow me to NOT charge shipping at all.

So, if you are opting to pick up your rewards at our headquarters or one of the cons, you'll be charged shipping. BUT I'm told that I'll be able to issue a credit back to you to cover that expense once the surveys are submitted. 

Sorry if that's confusing! Honestly, I'm a little confused, but the BackerKit folks assure me you won't get screwed (I probably will, though, since I can't account for items that need to ship separately). TECHNOLOGYYYYYYYY

I'm working with the BackerKit representative to sync up BackerKit with Kickstarter. Some of you are seeing weird extra charges for shipping, but don't worry. You won't be charged anything until we get it sorted out (and once we do, you will only be charged extra shipping if you order extra add-on items).

WHOLESALERS, you will not be charged for shipping if you are within the U.S. There is a way for me to credit any shipping charges back to you. You may fill out your survey (and add extra wholesale items, if you wish).

I mentioned previously that we're using BackerKit to allow you to add on just about any items you'd like to your reward. This includes our back catalog, all of our 2018 publications and even some of the custom art, original art and bonus comics that were available in the Kickstarter campaign. 

Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://birdcage-bottom-books-2018-comics-publications.backerkit.com.

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact support at https://birdcage-bottom-books-2018-comics-publications.backerkit.com/faq.

Relettering "In The Future, We Are Dead"

Hi all,

Eva and I decided that the lettering in the word balloons doesn't look quite right (she's not yet confident in her lettering skills, so she used a computer font made from her handwriting), so I'm relettering them for the final publication. I've just finished the first chapter, so I thought I'd throw a couple of "before & after" up here to see what you think!

We're keeping the narration text as is since we don't find it distracting (plus, my handwriting is significantly different from hers, so it wasn't filling the text boxes up in the right way). 

I'd love to hear any feedback you might have. Thanks!

Thank you everyone! Now I can stop obsessively checking the Kickstarter status and pay attention to my dear children's needs again. I'll celebrate by boiling some of that uncooked spaghetti I found them gnawing on in the cupboard!
